DESCRIPTION:Unlock Alabama's past with a visit to Arab Historic Village\, featuring a collection of 8 original buildings and a museum with items dating from the late 1800s through the 1940s. The buildings include a one-room school house\, a country church\, a homestead\, grist mill and blacksmith shop\, as well as a country store and a clubhouse.\n\n	The village is open for scheduled tours and visited annually by school groups from across Alabama. The church is available for weddings and other community events. For more information about upcoming events held at the Village\, contact 256-586-3138.\n\n	\n\n	On May 21\, 2011\, in conjunction with Poke Salat Bluegrass Festival\, the Arab Historical Society\, will open the village for free tours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Families can watch live demonstrations in the different buildings and homeade pies and homeade ice cream will be for sale in the Country Store at the Village.\n\n	Park downtown and catch a shuttlebus to and from the park. Parking downtown is free. Shuttle service is free.
